Dr Adam Gordon
B.V.Sc (Hons), M.V.S., CMAVA – Owner & Principal Veterinarian
Adam first joined Maroubra Veterinary Hospital in 1991 and bought the practice in 1996 building it to be one of the most highly respected practices in the Eastern Suburbs.
Adam, our Principal Veterinarian and practice owner, graduated from the University of Sydney in 1990 with Honours. He subsequently completed a Masters Degree in Veterinary Studies from Murdoch University in 2002. He has also completed further studies in orthopaedic surgery, cruciate ligament surgery, diagnostic ultrasound and advanced echocardiography.
Adam has a passion for surgery as well as diagnosis and treatment of complex medical problems. He also enjoys performing diagnostic ultrasound including echocardiography and cardiology. Adam is also dedicated to continuing professional development and attends multiple veterinary conferences and workshops every year both in Australia and overseas. He is also a contributor to various veterinary periodicals.
Outside of work, Adam enjoys spending time with his family, travelling, rugby union and cricket.
He is also Dad to a Bichon Frise called ‘Leo’, a Lop Eared Rabbit called ‘Lucy’, a MVH rescue cat ‘Layla’ and a chocolate Burmese kitten called Lord Louie.
In 2019, Adam was awarded the Australia Day ‘Community Service Award’ for the local area and the MVH practice was a Finalist in the Randwick area Local Business Awards.

Dr Justine Moses
Veterinarian
Justine graduated from Sydney University with first-class Honors in 1998.
Her career began in mixed practice, on the South Coast of NSW and then in the U.K. Upon her return to Sydney, she commenced working with MVH where she has worked ever since.
She loves all aspects of her job, especially the satisfaction of caring and helping very sick pets and seeing them return home happy and recovering to their family. Justine loves working with our clients as well as their furry friends.
Outside of work, Justine is a married Mum of 3 children with two family pets, ‘Bruce’ a Golden Retriever dog and ‘Biscuit’ the cat. You may also remember her beloved Golden Retriever ‘Mr Waddy’ if you were lucky enough to meet him.
Dr Annabelle Fulmer
Veterinarian
Annabelle graduated from the University of Sydney with first class honours in 2012. She originally studied in New Zealand, completing a Bachelor of Science majoring in Psychology in 2006 before moving permanently to Australia. Annabelle first started work at Maroubra Veterinary Hospital as a veterinary nurse in 2007 and made the transition to veterinarian in 2012.
She has since completed a small animal rotating internship at the University of Sydney expanding her skills, knowledge and experience. She is currently studying a Masters in Veterinary Medicine through Massey University. Annabelle enjoys all aspects of general practice and always strives for a positive outcome through best practice and patient care.
When not at work, Annabelle enjoys dancing, hiking, spending time with friends and looking after her dogs ‘Pablo’, ‘Eva’ and ‘Churro’, and two rescue cats, ‘Alby’ and ‘Squid’
Dr James De Lucia
Veterinarian
James has loved animals from a very early age and therefore it was an easy decision for him to pursue a career as a veterinarian.
James graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor in Veterinary Science in 2016 and joined the Maroubra Veterinary Hospital team in December 2016. He has a special interest in small animal surgery and loves seeing relationships develop between owners and their pets. He also has a few small animals of his own including a snake, a lizard, and a MVH rescue cat ‘Ronald Weasley’.
Outside of work James enjoys the outdoors, surfing at Maroubra beach, caring for his pets and catching up with friends
Dr Melina Tsepetzis

Elsha Mount
Practice Manager
Elsha is our longest standing employee. She commenced working at Maroubra Veterinary Hospital in 1988 as a weekend animal attendant, and started full time work in 1994.
Elsha has completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and Advanced Veterinary Nursing. Elsha is also currently doing a leadership program with the Lincoln Institute.
Outside of work Elsha is a married mum of 2 children who loves dancing, reading and spending time with family and friends.
Her fur babies are ‘Pugsley’ the Pugalier, ‘Chief’ the Bull Mastiff and a Maroubra Vet Hospital rescue kitten called ‘Spinx’.
Ana Sousa
Senior Veterinary Nurse
Ana graduated from Macquarie University with a degree in Bachelor Arts with a Major in Japanese studies. Her love for animals was her main passion and led her to veterinary nursing, having completed as well a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing.
She joined our team here at Maroubra Veterinary Hospital first as a kennel hand in 2006 and shortly after as a Veterinary Nurse. She is now a Senior Veterinary Nurse.
She has two fur babies, ‘Drogo’ a sleek black cat with an independent personality who gives love on his own terms, and ‘Vash the Stampede’ a white and tabby cat who has the confidence of a leaf but a huge loving heart and avid chirper. In her spare time, Ana loves to read books and manga, watching movies, listening to music, hiking and travelling – Japan being a firm favourite.
Jen Gow
Veterinary Nurse
Jen commenced with Maroubra Veterinary Hospital in 1993! Jen has qualifications in animal attending, nursing and advanced nursing.
Although she loves veterinary nursing, you will also find Jen out front smiling and chatting to our clients and their furry friends. Jen’s own furry companion is a Shih-Tzu X Poodle called ‘Patch’. She is an extreme lover of Magpie’s and cares for her own wild flock in the backyard.
Leah Henry
Veterinary Nurse
Leah started at Maroubra Veterinary Hospital as an Animal attendant in 2016 and then as a full-time nurse in 2019. She loves assisting animals safely through their anaesthetics, seeing our patients get better, and assisting the vets with interesting cases, or even in theatre! You can also find her behind the screen running the social media with Zoe.
In her spare time Leah loves spending time at the beach or her family’s farm with her Dingo cross ‘Arlo’, a highly energetic yet snuggly boy. Leah also has two black and white MVH rescue cats, called ‘Leo’ & ‘Olive’ – ‘Olive’ was hand raised by Leah!

Zoe Swarbrick
Veterinary Nurse
Zoe started at Maroubra Veterinary Hospital in 2020. She has a Cert III in Wildlife and Exhibited Animals, qualifying her to be a zookeeper! She has been a full time nurse here at MVH since 2021, helping your pets in consult, over the phone, or in surgery and has loved it ever since.
She loves the weird and wonderful and even has a bearded dragon named ‘Laika’ at home. She also has a beautiful gentle giant, ‘Tyzac’ a Mastiff cross, and a large ginger tabby, ‘Zebie’ who she adopted from the hospital.
Zoe enjoys anything creative in her spare time, (and sometimes her work time). Finding hilarious ways to spark joy in the work place when she can.
Ilona Cardot
Animal Attendant
Ilona started at Maroubra Veterinary Hospital in 2020 as an Animal Attendant. Ilona’s primary role is feeding, medicating and making sure all our boarders are loved like her own. Ilona has two MVH rescue cats, ‘Soup’ & ‘Pumpkin’ – ‘Pumpkin’ was hand raised by Ilona!
She is French and loves being able to easily communicate with our French clients. Ilona not only cares for our boarders & inpatients but does so much work to keep our hospital clean, stocked and always assists both nurses and vets in every way possible, she really makes the team at MVH!
In her free time Ilona loves traveling, socializing and exploring new places.
Gemma Hodder
Veterinary Nurse
Gemma started working at Maroubra Veterinary Hospital in February 2023, and has been working in the Veterinary industry since 2022. She always had an interest in animals since she was a child, growing up in a house with 4 cats, an array of dogs, budgies, mice, fish, and even a collection of reptiles including bearded dragons and geckos.
She completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in June of 2024 and couldn’t imagine doing anything else. Gemma loves all animals big and small but has a soft spot for Staffy’s and will drop anything for a snuggle with one.
Cara Hayden
Receptionist
Cara joined the practice in 2024 as our admin assistant and receptionist. She moved to Australia in 2020 from Ireland and is currently training to be a Groomer. Cara brings her Irish charm to work and has a soft spot for Golden Retrievers. She hopes to own one… or three someday soon.
