Dr Adam Gordon
B.V.Sc (Hons), M.V.S., CMAVA – Owner & Principal Veterinarian
Adam first joined Maroubra Veterinary Hospital in 1991 and bought the practice in 1996 building it to be one of the most highly respected practices in the Eastern Suburbs.
Adam, our Principal Veterinarian and practice owner, graduated from the University of Sydney in 1990 with Honours. He subsequently completed a Masters Degree in Veterinary Studies from Murdoch University in 2002. He has also completed further studies in orthopaedic surgery, cruciate ligament surgery, diagnostic ultrasound and advanced echocardiography.
Adam has a passion for surgery as well as diagnosis and treatment of complex medical problems. He also enjoys performing diagnostic ultrasound including echocardiography and cardiology. Adam is also dedicated to continuing professional development and attends multiple veterinary conferences and workshops every year both in Australia and overseas. He is also a contributor to various veterinary periodicals.
Outside of work, Adam enjoys spending time with his family, travelling, rugby union and cricket.
He is also Dad to a Bichon Frise called ‘Leo’, a Lop Eared Rabbit called ‘Lucy’, a MVH rescue cat ‘Layla’ and a chocolate Burmese kitten called Lord Louie.
In 2019, Adam was awarded the Australia Day ‘Community Service Award’ for the local area and the MVH practice was a Finalist in the Randwick area Local Business Awards.

Dr Justine Moses
Veterinarian
Justine graduated from Sydney University with first-class Honors in 1998.
Her career began in mixed practice, on the South Coast of NSW and then in the U.K. Upon her return to Sydney, she commenced working with MVH where she has worked ever since.
She loves all aspects of her job, especially the satisfaction of caring and helping very sick pets and seeing them return home happy and recovering to their family. Justine loves working with our clients as well as their furry friends.
Outside of work, Justine is a married Mum of 3 children with two family pets, ‘Bruce’ a Golden Retriever dog and ‘Biscuit’ the cat. You may also remember her beloved Golden Retriever ‘Mr Waddy’ if you were lucky enough to meet him.
Dr James De Lucia
Veterinarian
James has loved animals from a very early age and therefore it was an easy decision for him to pursue a career as a veterinarian.
James graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor in Veterinary Science in 2016 and joined the Maroubra Veterinary Hospital team in December 2016. He has a special interest in small animal surgery and loves seeing relationships develop between owners and their pets. He also has a few small animals of his own including a snake, a lizard, and a MVH rescue cat ‘Ronald Weasley’.
Outside of work James enjoys the outdoors, surfing at Maroubra beach, caring for his pets and catching up with friends

Dr Elsa Fredriksson
Veterinarian
Elsa graduated from the University of Sydney in 2025 with a Bachelor of Veterinary Biology and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, joining the team as its newest member. A lifelong animal lover, Elsa has a background in equine care as a former riding instructor and now works primarily with small animals.
At home, she shares life with two much-loved pets: Marlo the groodle and Alfie, a one-eyed, half-tailed senior cat. Passionate about all aspects of veterinary care, Elsa has a particular interest in dermatology, dentistry, and internal medicine.
Outside of work, she enjoys playing the guitar, dining out with friends and family, visiting the beach, and spending time with her partner.

Dr Laura Cameron
Veterinarian
Laura graduated from the University of Sydney in 2022 with a Bachelor of Veterinary Biology and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Having grown up surrounded by animals, she always knew she wanted to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. After working across a variety of veterinary practices and embarking on a locum journey, Laura eventually found her way to the team at Maroubra Veterinary Hospital.
Passionate about all aspects of veterinary medicine, Laura strives to provide optimal, compassionate care while ensuring every visit is as positive and stress-free as possible, having also low-stress handling certification. She enjoys building lasting relationships with clients and her patients and has special interests in internal medicine, diagnostic imaging, dentistry and dermatology.
Outside of work, Laura enjoys life with her fiancé and their newly adopted MVH kitten, Winnie. When she’s not at the clinic, you’ll often find her in or on the ocean – freediving, scuba diving, kayaking or swimming, whatever the weather – or travelling and exploring new places.
Elsha Mount
Practice Manager
Elsha is our longest standing employee. She commenced working at Maroubra Veterinary Hospital in 1988 as a weekend animal attendant, and started full time work in 1994.
Elsha has completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and Advanced Veterinary Nursing. Elsha is also currently doing a leadership program with the Lincoln Institute.
Outside of work Elsha is a married mum of 2 children who loves dancing, reading and spending time with family and friends.
Her fur babies are ‘Pugsley’ the Pugalier, ‘Chief’ the Bull Mastiff and a Maroubra Vet Hospital rescue kitten called ‘Spinx’.
Leah Henry
Head Veterinary Nurse
Leah began her journey at Maroubra Veterinary Hospital in 2016 as an Animal Attendant, before becoming a full-time Veterinary Nurse in 2019. One of Leah’s greatest passions is helping patients safely through anaesthesia, particularly those more challenging or high-risk cases. She finds it incredibly rewarding to see patients recover and return home to their families. Leah also thrives in emergency situations, always eager to lend a hand wherever she can, and loves assisting our veterinarians with interesting cases and procedures. You can also find her behind the screen, running MVH’s social media pages.
Throughout her years at MVH, one of Leah’s favourite parts of the job has been building genuine friendships and connections with our clients and their beloved pets. Leah takes pride in getting to know the individual personalities of our patients and making both pets and their owners feel welcome, comfortable and cared for. Outside of the clinic, Leah loves spending time at the beach or visiting her family’s farm with her Dingo cross, Arlo, a highly energetic yet incredibly cuddly boy. She also shares her home with two black-and-white MVH rescue cats, Leo and Olive. Olive was bottle-raised by Leah from a few days old!
Gemma Hodder
Veterinary Nurse
Gemma started working at Maroubra Veterinary Hospital in February 2023, and has been working in the Veterinary industry since 2022. She always had an interest in animals since she was a child, growing up in a house with 4 cats, an array of dogs, budgies, mice, fish, and even a collection of reptiles including bearded dragons and geckos.
She completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in June of 2024 and couldn’t imagine doing anything else. Gemma loves all animals big and small but has a soft spot for Staffy’s and will drop anything for a snuggle with one.
Kody Wells
Veterinary Nurse
Kody is a veterinary nurse who has loved animals since childhood. Her passion for animal care inspired her to begin her veterinary nursing career in 2020, and she completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2023.
At home, Kody is surrounded by her beloved pets, Charlie and Harry, her two dogs, and the family cat, Joey.
Lisa Calvert
Veterinary Nurse
Lisa joined Maroubra Veterinary Hospital in September 2025. Though she has a diverse background in hospitality, childcare and floristry, veterinary nursing is her favourite job of all time. She thrives on learning something new and fascinating every day, and she absolutely loves getting to know all of our clients. Professionally, Lisa is highly interested in dog behaviour and holds a special soft spot for senior patients. At home, she pours that same love into Eddie, her rescue Jack Russell Terrier, who became an instant “foster fail’ after just four hours because she couldn’t be without him!

Animal Attendant
Evie started at Maroubra Vets as an animal attendant in 2025, and is currently completing her Cert 4 in Veterinary Nursing.
As well as caring closely for our boarders and inpatients, Evie enjoys her time maintaining a clean and safe workplace, learning clinical skills from the nurses and always being sure to place in a sneaky plush toy with recovering surgery patients. Evie loves making sure each patient is cared for with the same level of care, comfort and dedication. Evie has 2 beautiful furr-babies at home; “Tui”, a Cavoodle, and “Meg”, an MVH bottle-raised kitty!
